My
Best Friend
There is something
about my friend you see,
he is certainly odd, yet attached to me.
He is by my side through the good and the bad,
but he’s oh so skilled at making me mad.
He’s not always
the cleanest but I don’t care,
once in a while things are alive in his hair.
His breath is like nothing you’ve ever smelt,
but his eyes are bound to make anyone melt.
He’s always
hungry day in and day out,
if he misses a meal he surely will pout.
He’s been known to steal right from my plate,
but even then, he’s my very best mate.
He’s never
quiet preferring the noise,
when he makes a point its lacking in poise.
He is never shy to make a demand,
but even still, there’s no reprimand.
With all of this
said it must make you guess,
but if you met him I swear he’d impress.
I have no doubt, not an ounce of fog,
I would never be happy without my dog.

Adam
& Ernie
My
name is Adam Methot, and I am sixteen years old. I have been showing
& training dogs for almost seven years now. I purchased my one and
only American Cocker Spaniel "Amigo" six years ago.
Together, we experimented with obedience, agility and show handling.
After I finished my dog' s championship, I mainly showed in junior handling
competitions, where I was introduced to many interesting breeds. From
juniors, I have collected many types of rosettes, plaques, prizes and
photos. I have had numerous opportunities to compete in the regional
finals, down in Southern Ontario.
This
hobby has allowed me to meet and make friends with many unique and exhuberant
individuals all around North America. I still remain heavily involved
in the dog community, and I am currently the newsletter editor for the
Thunder Bay Cocker Spainel Club.
Presently,
I am working with the Copper Cliff gang, showing cockers and shepherds.
Since joining the force, I have championed two dogs, (Bently & Earnhardt)
including a Best Puppy in Specialty win. Though I have had the experience
of working with many breeds, the American Cocker Spaniel and the
German Shepherd, have always instilled a special place in my heart.

Victoria & Boston
My
name is Victoria Methot, I am 14 and currently in grade eight. I have
been participating in dog shows for almost 7 years, and each show is
as fun and exciting as the last. I have an older brother Adam, and together
we experienced the highlights of dog handling. We have a dog of our
own and his name is Amigo. He is a black American Cocker Spaniel. I
have showed a different variety of breeds but mostly American Cocker
Spaniels. My latest accomplishment was receiving a first place in Senior
Open for Junior Handling. Last year Fay Brugger offered us the opportunity
to show and handle her American Cocker Spaniels and German Shepherds.
I was delighted and excited to work with these wonderful dogs and expand
my knowledge with showing dogs. While working with Fay, I've made amazing
new friends who I can share laughs and have a great time with.
Besides showing dogs, I also enjoy dancing, figure skating and skiing.
In my spare time I prefer reading books and surfing the web. Dog show
handling offers a fun educational experience. Through out the years,
I've had many wonderful memories showing dogs.
